How does usage billing work?

Any registrations you process on Corsizio are all subject to $0.10 (ten cents) per registration. You need to enable billing by putting a valid payment card on file in order to receive registrations beyond the low-volume limit. Your payment card will automatically be charged right after the billing month's cycle finishes for all registrations processed in that given month.

  • If your total new registrations for a given month were under 50, meaning low-volume usage, we will waive the charge for that month.
  • If you do not enable billing, you can only accept up to 50 registrations in any given month as low-volume usage.
You will receive alerts from Corsizio if you do not have billing enabled when you are getting close to your limit and when you reach the low-volume usage limit. If you do reach the maximum limit within a month and you do not have billing enabled or do not have a valid payment card on file, the system will stop accepting any new registrations for your account. This limit will be removed as soon as you enable billing; otherwise, it will reset in the next billing cycle.

Note: The usage billing applies to all registrations processed, regardless of the status of the registration or any online payment processing fees.

You can view your current and historical usage trends and data under  Reports within your Corsizio account.

What counts as a registration?

Anytime someone registers to one of your events or to a waiting list for your events, or anytime you manually register someone, this counts as part of your total usage for the month.
If you cancel or delete a registration, given that it was already processed by Corsizio, it still counts as part of your total usage for the month it was registered in. We do not charge you anything extra to process the cancellation or deletion of it.

How much does it cost?

If your total usage in a given month is  between 0 and 50 new registrations, then there is no charge for those registrations. Your usage is considered low volume, is free, and you do not get billed.
If your total usage in a given month is more than 50 new registrations, then you are billed a one-time fee, as presented in the table below, for each registration that month depending on the payment card's associated country or region and its currency.
Card Country / Currency Fee per registration
United States — USD $0.10 USD
Canada — CAD $0.10 CAD
Australia — AUD $0.10 AUD
Singapore — SGD $0.10 SGD
United Kingdom — GBP £0.10 GBP
European Union — EUR €0.10 EUR

How do I get billed?

To enable billing and remove the low usage limit for your registrations, visit the Billing & Usage area from within your Corsizio Settings, and add a debit or credit card for your billed usage. Accepted debit and credit cards include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express
When the month finishes, if your total usage is above the low volume limit, your payment card will be billed accordingly, and you will be emailed an invoice receipt for your total usage for that month. At any time you can access and download your past invoice receipts in a PDF format from within your account billing area.
Please note that you may see slight differences between the information listed on your invoice for that month and in your report dashboard due to timezone adjustments.

Is usage billing subject to any taxes?

Corsizio is a company based in Ontario, Canada which may be used to accept online registrations from customers in a few other countries worldwide.
  • If you are located in Canada, your invoice total is subject to the 13% HST sales tax.
  • If you are located in Europe, including the United Kingdom and Ireland, use the reverse charge mechanism for your VAT remittance. The European Commission DG Taxation web page provides additional information.
  • If you are located in the US, Australia, New Zealand, or any other country not mentioned above, your bill will not include any taxes.

Does usage billing apply to free, charity, or not-for-profit events?

Yes, if the user's registration usage falls within the higher volume usage. We aim to provide everyone equally with an ultra-low, highly discounted, pay-per-use, and cost-effective model for higher volume needs and free usage for low volume needs. This means all of our users get access to all of our features, support, security, data storage, and service value regardless of what kind of events they offer.

What happens if you disable usage billing?

If you decide to disable your billing at any time during a billing cycle, your account will continue to accept unlimited registrations until the end of the month, and your final bill will be at the end of that month's billing cycle. When the month finishes, you will receive your final invoice. Going forward your account will be back on the free, low-volume usage limit, meaning that you can receive up to 50 registrations each month and you are not billed for these registrations.
If you decide to delete your entire account while you still have billing enabled, then the system will immediately send you the final invoice, if applicable, and close the billing cycle.
Keep in mind that you can continue to keep billing enabled even if you don't use Corsizio for several weeks or months at a time, as you will not be charged anything. Even when you do use Corsizio, if your total volume is only up to 50 registrations in any given month, then you also do not get billed for that low volume usage.

What happens if your payment card expires during a billing cycle?

If the payment card on file expires during the current billing cycle month, the account can still receive up to 50 registrations that same month without any interruptions. However, if you plan on receiving more than 50 registrations that month and no new valid card is put on file before your account goes over 50 registrations, then the system will block further registrations (over 50) as it has no valid card to charge for the registrations.

Our system bills your payment card when the billing cycle month finishes, which normally works out to be on the 1st of the next month, and thus, a card that expires during the month of the billing cycle will not work. This is why a payment card needs to be updated before the month in which it expires or at the latest during the month in which it expires but before the account reaches 50 registrations that month, to prevent a registration block on the account.

To ensure uninterrupted registration service, a different valid payment card can be put on the account temporarily if you are having any trouble from your bank or organization getting a new valid version of the previous card that expired.

What happens if your billing payment fails?

If your account's billing payment for the previous month's usage on Corsizio was declined by your card issuer, this may occur for a number of reasons, like insufficient funds or certain card restrictions. The best way to solve this is to contact your card issuer for more information and to clear the issue. You can also change your billing card to a different one, if that would be more appropriate in your case, and the payment will be retried immediately.

Note: Corsizio is a company based in Canada, and often, the most common reason for a failed payment is that your credit card company or bank does not allow cross-border usage. If this is the case, you will need to contact your credit card company or bank to authorize the transaction.

If you leave the same card on file, our system will retry the payment again in a few days from the last failed attempt, but only up to 3 times. We hope that you can resolve the issue before then, and to prevent your account from being locked automatically. Let us know if you have any questions, and to make sure your account stays in good standing and to continue accepting registrations.

What happens if you dispute a valid billing charge from Corsizio?

When you choose to enable billing by adding a payment card to your Corsizio account in order to accept over 50 registrations in any given month, the account owner and all parties that are involved in managing the Corsizio account are agreeing to the Usage Billing terms outlined above and are responsible for maintaining the account in good standing.

If anyone from your organization disputes a valid Usage Billing charge from Corsizio that was charged on the payment card that your organization has put on your Corsizio account, then a legal dispute process is initiated that involves the payment card issuing bank, Corsizio, and our payment processor Stripe. Wrongful disputes normally take one to three months to be resolved and include non-refundable dispute processing fees that our payment processor charges Corsizio, administrative costs that Corsizio has to endure to submit required documents for the wrongful dispute, and a possible account suspension of the Corsizio account that disputed the valid charge.

Your Corsizio Account responsibilities in case of a dispute for a valid charge:

  • First, the payment cardholder that has disputed the valid charge from Corsizio needs to contact their bank to reverse the wrongful dispute.
  • Second, the Corsizio account that has disputed the valid charge for Usage Billing from Corsizio is responsible for paying the outstanding amount of the valid charge (that their payment card bank returned to them), as well as a $30 USD wrongful dispute fee to Corsizio upon the initiation of the dispute process.
  • Failure to withdraw the wrongful dispute and pay the valid outstanding amount for your Usage Billing and the wrongful dispute fee will result in the suspension of the Corsizio account preventing any further use until all owing payments are settled.

Please note that disputing a valid charge is a serious matter, which puts the payment cardholder's reputation at risk and can penalize the reputation of the merchant whose charge to their customer was valid. Therefore, if you or any members of your Corsizio account or organization have any questions about Corsizio's Usage Billing fees or charges, please be sure to contact our support team first.
