Changing the owner of an account
Each Corsizio account has one owner who is, by default, the person who created the account. If you need to change the ownership of the account, how you proceed will depend on whether you are the owner or not.
NOTE — Given that the account owner has access to billing and bank account information, for the benefit and security of all of our users, we cannot switch account ownership unless the proper verification is provided.
If you are the current account owner
As part of your request, please provide us with the following information:
-
Let us know which account(s) you need the ownership changed for, especially if you have more than one account.
- Let us know which account user should be the new account owner. You must already have designated this user as an "admin" on the account. If they are not, please add and designate the user accordingly and have them accept the invite via the Corsizio user invite email. We will then switch the ownership to that user as per your request.
Finally, for a seamless transition, be sure to let the new account owner know that Corsizio operates as a self-serve platform and uses a pay-per-use pricing model.
ALERT — Before changing account ownership, be sure to check and update, if applicable, the account's Stripe connection, billing card, and any other sensitive info that you may lose access to.
After the successful account ownership change, the previous owner remains an "admin" user on the account. If you no longer want or need to have access to the account, the new owner or another admin on the account can remove your access. You can then proceed to fully delete your user login from Corsizio.
If you are not the account owner
It is part of the Terms of Use that all users agree to when choosing to use Corsizio that the account owner's name, contact info, and account business name must be valid and maintained up-to-date.
- For example, if the account owner is leaving their position within their organization, they need to designate a new account owner and transfer ownership before becoming unreachable or losing access to their Corsizio login credentials.
- Likewise, the name of the account owner must always be a real person's name and not the name of the business or department or any kind of job title for proper accountability and security. Users that do not abide by the terms risk having their usage suspended and their account terminated.
Other account users
Any users added to the account as admins have most of the same privileges as the owner, except for the ability to change the Stripe-connected account when accepting online payments or the ability to change or remove the owner. Therefore, be extra vigilant and make sure you fully trust the person you provide with "admin" access to your Corsizio account.
Any user added to the account under the role of editor, facilitator, or viewer has further limitations on what they can or cannot do within the account.
To view the users on the account and review their roles, go to Settings and then the Users List (see the screenshot below). Refer to the help doc for adding multiple users to an account for more information about account roles and inviting new users.
