Taking attendance
If you need to or would like to keep track of attendance at your events, there are 3 ways that you can do this in Corsizio, which will be explained in this tutorial.
Physical Paper Method
This method will provide you with a PDF document that you can print out and use to take attendance in a physical manner during your event. You can generate this list after you finished accepting all registrations for your event, by following these steps:
- 1
- Open the event that you wish to take attendance for. You can access the event from your Upcoming Events list or from the Events area in the main navigation menu or by using Search to locate it.
- 2
- Open the Attendees list from the left-side menu.
- 3
- Open the Actions menu in the top-right area and select the option "PDF export of attendee list" from the exports area.
- 4
-
A window will open up with some configuration options for your export. For the
Version, choose the
"Simple list of names for attendance" or download the layout version that best suits your needs.
- 5
- Finalize this action by selecting "Download the PDF".
Note
If it serves your business needs, after your event you can always use the paper attendance list to mark people who attended using the toggle method outlined below to also have a record of attendance directly within Corsizio.
In-app Toggle Method
This method will allow you to mark attendance directly inside Corsizio in a digital manner. You can do it at the start or during your event if you have a computer or mobile device with internet access available so that you can log into your Corsizio account. Alternatively, you can also mark attendance after the event anytime. To use this method, follow these steps:
- 1
- Open the event that you wish to take attendance for. You can access the event from your Upcoming Events list or from the Events area in the main navigation menu or by using Search to locate it.
- 2
- Open the Attendees list from the left-side menu.
- 3
- If you would like to mark each attendee as present one at a time, then go through the attendee list and turn on the Attended toggle, which will change from grey to green, to indicate that the person was present accordingly.
-
- 4
- If you would like to mark all attendees as present all at once, open the Actions menu in the top-right area and select the option "Mark all as attended or absent." After, you can always unmark individually anyone who did not attend to speed up the process.
-
Automated Check-In Code Method
This method will automatically mark as attended within Corsizio the people who were present at your event. This can be accomplished by following the help doc Attendee Check-In Page, which must be used for this method to work.
When attendees check into your event using either their scanned QR code or entered check-in code, their Attended toggle status is automatically changed to reflect their present attendance and an activity log entry is added to their registration to indicate this as well.
Next Steps
After your event has finished and you have a record of the attendance, you may wish to take one or more of the following actions:
- Send certificates of completion to those who were present.
- Request feedback from those who were present.
- Transfer registration to another event for those who were absent.
- Issue a full or partial refund, if your refund policy allows for that, to those who were absent.
For the most accurate and best record-keeping, it is not recommended that you cancel a registration for anyone who was absent. You can leave an internal note on their registration to further document their absence.
Future Tips
If you have a high rate of absenteeism at your event(s), consider the following actions:
- Send out event reminders through Corsizio and any other means that you have available.
- Charge a non-refundable fee or collect a non-refundable deposit at the time of online registration for your event.
